The ladies of the club

Four elderly ladies pull out their best dresses in preparation of their special trip. The car is dusted off, their suitcases collected from the attic and the thermoses prepped: their journey is about to begin.

Their Renault 6 might just pull up right next to you – so be warned! Nothing says suave like a number of old girls parking their ride, with smoke hurling from the engine and a lot of fuss. It marks the beginning of a hilarious roadside picnic, which builds up into a road movie-esque theatre piece.

The old girls club are here to celebrate a special occasion. They unpack the festoons, fold out a couple of chairs and serve up apple pie. What else do they need to get the party started?

Well…what about the birthday girl? What is hiding underneath that dress and what is holding up their support stockings ever so tightly?

Walking act

The ladies of the club go for a ride and stop somewhere for a break. The old girls love to mingle with the crowd and park their car in the thick of it. Cause that is where the action is.

Soon enough audiences will discover the women are somewhat unsophisticated to say the least. And each comes with her own unique set of quirks and antics. One damsel throws herself at all the handsome elderly gentlemen, the next one chases ice cream and sweets, the third is just a daft bird in need of assistance.

The most sensible one of the bunch tries to keep her friends out of trouble, which is not an easy task, because they are all over the place. But in the end they always pull together, because without one another, they are surely lost. The girls will charm audiences everywhere. They can’t help themselves, that’s just what they do.
